DigiPlus reaffirms commitment to responsible gaming

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., through its social development arm BingoPlus Foundation, is reaffirming its commitment to responsible gaming during Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

The company is highlighting its pioneering use of in-app safeguards, financial education, and mental health training to protect Filipino players.

DigiPlus, the Philippines’ largest integrated digital entertainment ecosystem with over 40 million registered users and more than 130 physical sites, emphasizes a “human-first” approach to gaming. This approach is rooted in empathy, protection, and shared responsibility.

Central to this commitment is GameSmart, a responsible gaming program built on three pillars: prevention, education, and intervention.

Prevention is implemented through advanced in-app tools. These include custom time and spending limits, facial recognition and e-KYC protocols. These features empower players to manage their habits while shielding minors and at-risk groups.

The “Pusta de Peligro” campaign, a public advocacy drive, reframes the familiar term “Petsa de Peligro” as a moment to pause and reflect on responsible choices.

Education is delivered through the foundation’s “Tamang Laro, Tamang Panalo” campaign. This initiative provides financial coaching to jackpot winners and targeted community sectors, teaching practical skills like budgeting, debt management, and smart saving. The message, delivered from livestreams to barangay halls, is consistent: real fun comes from being in control.

Intervention is available when players need it most. DigiPlus has started training frontline staff and customer service teams to identify warning signs and offer mental health first aid. In collaboration with organizations like Seagulls Flock, the Foundation is building support systems that prioritize compassion, ensuring players feel supported when facing risky behavior.

DigiPlus said understanding the human element behind each player is crucial for long-term, sustainable entertainment. Through BingoPlus Foundation, the company extends its responsible gaming efforts to where its customers live, work, and play – across stores, digital platforms and communities.

These initiatives are part of a broader “ecosystem of care.” BingoPlus Foundation said it allocated P150 million for 2025 toward social programs under four pillars: technology education, accessible healthcare, community resilience and responsible digitalization. Responsible gaming is an integral part of DigiPlus’ operations, not a standalone campaign.

“Problem gambling is real – but so is the power of technology, education, and community to prevent it,” said Angela Camins-Wieneke, executive director of BingoPlus Foundation.

“At DigiPlus, we don’t just check compliance boxes. We’ve built an ecosystem that protects players, empowers families, and multiplies the good across every corner of the country,” she said.

DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation plan to expand their efforts. This year, the Foundation will launch new digital learning modules, host community dialogues and scale partnerships with local government units (LGUs), schools and healthcare professionals to create a broader safety net for players.
