Private operator New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC) said all seven individuals are in stable condition and received prompt medical assistance.

Department of Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez asked the Manila International Airport Authority and NNIC to submit a detailed report explaining the cause of the collapse.

The directive follows instructions from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to prioritize the safety and welfare of passengers and employees.

“NNIC is working closely with the relevant authorities and will take the necessary action based on the findings,” the operator said in a statement.

NNIC said its engineering teams inspected the surrounding sections of the terminal following the collapse and confirmed the area is safe for continued use. Operations at Terminal 1 remain normal as of Friday afternoon, but the specific site of the incident has been cordoned off.

The DOTr said it is monitoring the situation and expects a thorough assessment to implement measures that will prevent similar occurrences.

NNIC said assistance was provided to those involved and maintained that the well-being of visitors and workers remains its top priority.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if 100 percent of the terminal’s structural integrity meets current safety standards under the new private management.

Lopez instructed NNIC and the Manila International Airport to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and airport personnel and to submit a detailed report explaining the cause of the incident.
