SMC Infrastructure is offering a two-month toll rebate program for select public utility vehicles and cargo trucks on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and STAR Tollway to ease the impact of rising fuel costs.
This aims to cushion the transport and logistics sectors against fuel price hikes caused by Middle East tensions by effectively reverting toll costs to 2014 rates through weekly rebates. The government approved a toll adjustment for both expressways on Jan. 1, 2026, marking the first significant change since 2014.
Eligible vehicles include public utility jeepneys, UV Express vans, public utility buses, modern jeepneys, and cargo trucks or trailers with three or more axles and a height exceeding 7.5 feet.
On SLEX, which runs from Alabang to Sto. Tomas, Batangas, the rebate will reduce costs for Class 1 vehicles to P147 from P160. Class 2 rates will drop to P295 from P321, and Class 3 rates will fall to P442 from P481.
On the STAR Tollway, connecting Sto. Tomas to Batangas City, rates will be P104 from P113 for Class 1, P208 from P225 for Class 2, and P311 from P337 for Class 3.
To qualify, a vehicle should be an active Autosweep user in good standing with no unsettled traffic violations across the SMC expressway network, including SLEX, STAR Tollway, TPLEX, NAIAX and the Skyway System.
Vehicles using Autosweep To Go accounts should submit documents for full verification at customer service centers. Cash users should enroll in Autosweep and provide valid certificates of public convenience issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
Active Autosweep users do not need to register but must maintain a positive balance. Those with arrears may settle their accounts to qualify. Enrollment runs for two weeks from March 23 to April 4.
Rebates will be applied retroactively from the date of complete document submission and credited weekly. The program will be subject to review by the Department of Transportation and the Toll Regulatory Board.
