Pag-IBIG Fund’s Loyalty Card Plus has surpassed P1 billion in total discounts granted to members as the program expanded to 507 partner establishments nationwide, the agency said.
The program, which reached 1,005,583,149.75 pesos in cumulative savings for Filipino workers, has recorded 30,660,983 discounted transactions to date. Total issuance for both the original Loyalty Card and the enhanced Loyalty Card Plus has reached 15,170,992.
The initiative originally launched in 2014 to provide special offers from partner merchants. In 2019, the agency introduced the Loyalty Card Plus, adding cash card features through Asia United Bank and UnionBank of the Philippines to allow members to receive loan proceeds and access basic banking services.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary and Pag-IBIG Fund board of trustees chairperson Jose Ramon Aliling said the program demonstrates how public-private partnerships provide daily benefits to workers.
“The Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus is a prime example of how public-private partnerships can work to provide practical and relevant daily benefits to Filipino workers,” Aliling said.
“Especially at a time of global uncertainty when every peso counts, this program helps our members make the most of their hard-earned income,” he said.
The 507 partner establishments include 114 businesses in food and groceries, 189 in health and medicine, 20 in housing-related services, and five in fuel and transportation. The network is distributed across the country with 162 partners in the National Capital Region, 155 in the rest of Luzon, 55 in the Visayas and 85 in Mindanao.
Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive Marilene Acosta said the agency would roll out a digital version of the card within the year to improve accessibility and security.
“Through the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Program, our members are able to feel the value of Pag-IBIG Fund not only during major transactions but also in their daily lives through tangible savings on essential expenses,” Acosta said.
Acosta said the digital transition supports government efforts to advance financial inclusion by bringing savings and services within easier reach of more 15 million cardholders.
