The Clark International Airport Corp. announced that the newly constructed Clark Aviation Capital picnic grounds along Gil Puyat Avenue will soon open as a public park in the Freeport Zone.
Designed as a modern, accessible space at no cost, the park will feature jogging and walking paths, wellness facilities, an amphitheater, a playground, a pet park, and expansive open areas.
The development includes a stormwater reservoir for flood mitigation, parking, community gardens, and food and beverage stalls. Planners ensured the preservation of the site’s century-old acacia trees, which were planted during the American colonial period; none were felled during construction.
The picnic grounds are part of CIAC’s seven flagship projects under its Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, which promotes modern urban planning and sustainability within the Clark Freeport Zone.
Once complete, the park will complement other outdoor areas in Clark, such as the Clark Parade Grounds, Bicentennial Park, and Air Force City Park.
The first phase of development, covering five hectares of the nine-hectare site, is nearly finished and is expected to open to the public soon.
“As we develop the Clark Aviation Capital, we are committed to creating sustainable and inclusive public spaces that improve quality of life and foster stronger communities,” said CIAC president Jojit Alcazar.
