Philippines to lead launch of new ASEAN Tourism Roadmap

The Philippines will lead the launch of the ASEAN Tourism Sectoral Plan (ATSP) 2026–2030 during the 45th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026 to establish a regional roadmap to drive sustainable and inclusive growth across Southeast Asia.

As the ASEAN lead country coordinator, the Department of Tourism said the five-year plan focuses on cooperation in sustainability, resilience, innovation, digital transformation and human capital development.

The initiative coincides with the Philippines’ ASEAN chairship and its hosting of the regional forum in Cebu.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the plan strengthens policy alignment among member states while advancing initiatives for job creation, local enterprises and long-term economic growth.

“The ASEAN Tourism Sectoral Plan 2026–2030 reflects our collective commitment to a people-centered and forward-looking tourism agenda that delivers concrete benefits to communities across the region,” Frasco said.

The department said the framework would guide the rollout of joint programs and partnerships with dialogue partners and private sector stakeholders. These efforts aim to improve connectivity, market access and investment flows throughout the tourism sector.

The ATSP 2026–2030 is intended to serve as a reference for future regional initiatives, ensuring that tourism growth remains responsive to emerging global trends while remaining inclusive for all 10 member nations.
