Manila Water secures second straight global CDP Water A List inclusion

Manila Water Company has been named to the CDP 2025 Water A List for the second consecutive year, the company said Monday.

The recognition makes the utility firm the only Philippine company to receive the distinction twice in recent years. By securing a place on the A List, Manila Water ranks among the top 4 percent of all companies globally assessed by CDP across its environmental disclosure categories.

CDP operates as the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. It serves as a primary reference for investors and lenders to evaluate how organizations identify and manage environmental risks such as water security.

The repeat inclusion reflects the company’s adherence to best-practice transparency and performance in water resource management.

Manila Water said the achievement underscores its ongoing efforts to strengthen water security, including the improvement of water supply efficiency and the expansion of wastewater and sanitation services.

The company also continues to advance long-term watershed protection initiatives. These programs are supported by partnerships with regulators and government agencies to enable coordinated environmental implementation.

Manila Water also maintained its management-level rating for Climate. This indicates coordinated action on climate-related issues and the consistent disclosure of climate risks, impacts and mitigation efforts.

As a major provider for the east zone of Metro Manila, the company manages extensive infrastructure projects often valued at several billion P pesos to ensure service continuity.

Manila Water president and chief executive Jocot de Dios has previously emphasized that transparency remains a core pillar of the company’s sustainability strategy.
