DA set to launch transparency portal

The Department of Agriculture (DA) will launch a transparency portal in February to track P76.52 billion in rural infrastructure projects, signaling a shift toward greater accountability as the agency takes full control of the nation’s farm-to-market road network.

The digital platform, named FMR Watch, will provide public access to data on about 4,800 projects implemented between 2021 and 2025, as well as a P33-billion pipeline of projects slated for 2026.

Managed by the DA Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), the portal follows the 2026 General Appropriations Act which designated the bureau as the lead implementing office for these roads nationwide.

DA Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering assistant secretary Cristy Cecilia Polido said the website, accessible at fmr.bafe.gov.ph, reflects the department’s readiness to manage the infrastructure and invites citizen participation.

Polido noted that the portal would display project profiles, funding amounts, contractors, and completion percentages while allowing users to upload photos or videos to report delays or commend performance.
