PLDT Inc. was named a Network Transformation Icon for Growth at the 2025 Fast Mode Awards, making it the only telecommunications firm from the Philippines to be recognized in the global event.
The award recognizes the company for its multi-year Operations Support Systems (OSS) Transformation Program.
The initiative is a modernization effort designed to strengthen the digital infrastructure supporting customer and network operations for both PLDT and its wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications Inc.
The program launched in August 2024 and is scheduled to run until 2027. It focuses on upgrading systems responsible for customer support, service provisioning and network resource management. Through partnerships with Amdocs, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, the company is transitioning toward cloud-based and artificial intelligence-enabled operations to improve efficiency and service delivery.
“This award affirms our ongoing efforts to build a smarter, more responsive and more secure network for every Filipino,” PLDT Information Technology and Transformation Office first vice president and head Gilbert Gaw said.
He said the program represents an investment in the digital future of the country.
A year into the implementation, the company reported that the program has already improved the handling of customer requests and streamlined workflows. The migration of network records into a centralized system has also increased data accuracy and supported more automated processes.
The transformation is intended to help the company build an agile network capable of rolling out new technologies more quickly.
PLDT is the largest integrated telecommunications company in the Philippines and is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange as TEL and on the New York Stock Exchange as PHI.
