Pisopay, NPC sign digital billing deal

Payment technology firm Pisopay and the National Power Corp. signed a memorandum of agreement on Dec. 12, 2025 to deploy a digital billing and payment platform for residential consumers in remote areas.

The partnership establishes the NPC e-Bills Payment System, a centralized platform designed to modernize the billing lifecycle for the Small Power Utilities Group. The system aims to automate bill generation, presentation and real-time payment reconciliation for customers in missionary and off-grid locations.

The platform is powered by Pisopay e-Collect technology, which allows consumers to access electricity bills, track due dates and monitor balances through various electronic channels. The system is intended to improve service accessibility in areas where traditional payment infrastructure may be limited.

For the state-owned utility, the technology provides real-time transaction updates and automated reporting. National Power Corp. officials said the move aligns with a broader digital transformation roadmap to reduce manual administrative overhead and improve collection performance.

The agreement marks a shift toward a cashless-ready ecosystem for government-managed utilities. By adopting the digital framework, the National Power Corp. expects to enhance public service delivery and support national financial inclusion goals.
