The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Singapore-based energy technology company Ampotech signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the deployment of intelligent energy and carbon management solutions across industrial parks and facilities.
The MOU seeks to demonstrate the real-world benefits of integrating building energy management systems, solar generation, energy storage and asset tracking. These technologies are expected to deliver measurable energy savings and enhanced carbon emissions traceability for the government agency and the private enterprises operating within its special economic zones.
PEZA director-general Tereso Panga said the agency has made significant progress in embedding sustainability and environmental, social and governance principles into its operations. The agency said it is modernizing ecozones through renewable energy integration, waste-to-resource programs and eco-industrial park certifications.
The collaboration marks the entry of Ampotech into the Philippine market following a year of regional expansion that included the establishment of offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
