Globe expands network coverage to over 96%

Globe Telecom Inc. said it has expanded its nationwide coverage to 96.33 percent of the Philippine population as of November 2025.

This follows sustained investments in network infrastructure and strategic collaboration with national and local stakeholders, the company said in a statement over the weekend.

Around 4 million individuals, or 3.67 percent of the population, remain in areas with little to no mobile signal.

These residents are located in geographically isolated and far-flung communities. Globe projects further expansion as it activates new sites, upgrades existing ones and works with government units to enable faster deployment.

Globe president and chief executive Carl Cruz said connectivity has become a basic need and serves as a lifeline for work, learning, financial access and public services.

He said the company is committed to supporting the government’s Konektadong Pinoy agenda and closing the last remaining coverage gaps.

The company has identified specific towns where less than 50 percent of the local population has coverage.

These areas, many of which are island municipalities or remote mountain regions, are being prioritized for expansion based on feasibility and coordination with relevant agencies.

The expanded mobile footprint supported record revenues for Globe’s mobile data business, which reached P25.2 billion in the third quarter of 2025.

The company now serves 63.1 million mobile subscribers nationwide, with mobile data accounting for 86 percent of total mobile service revenues.

Globe said its recent investments include more than 1,000 new cell sites and extensive 5G upgrades to keep pace with the digital needs of households, schools and businesses.

The company said it continues to work with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the National Telecommunications Commission and local government units to ensure digital progress reaches all Filipinos.
