The Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Dec. 2 to 3, marking its evolution from a digital repository into a primary driver of evidence-based policymaking in the country.
Established in 2000 under the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the portal now hosts nearly 11,000 publications. The platform added more than 1,000 new studies in 2025 through its network of over 70 partner institutions nationwide.
PIDS president Philip Arnold Tuaño said the milestone honors a community of researchers and civil servants who view open access as essential to transparency and good governance.
The anniversary featured a ceremonial signing of a memorandum of understanding between SERP-P, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the WeSolve Foundation.
Tuaño, PIDS Research Information Department manager Melinda Quiñones, UNFPA representative Ravina Madrid and WeSolve Foundation executive director Paula Britta Apines signed the agreement to integrate new development resources into the portal.
