Capital One Philippines, in partnership with Planet Water Foundation, has installed and turned over its 100th water tower at Kalubkob Elementary School in Silang, Cavite.
The achievement coincides with Capital One Philippines’ 12th anniversary and addresses the need for safe drinking water in underserved and calamity-driven communities, aligning with one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The project began in 2016 and accelerated significantly in recent years. For the first five years, 12 towers were deployed in communities across Batangas, Muntinlupa, Pampanga, Laguna and Tondo. The project then expanded its reach to Quezon, Cavite, Baguio, Cebu and Leyte, reaching 78 towers by the end of 2024.
“Reaching our 100th water tower is not just a number for us – it represents 100 communities gaining access to an essential resource, and thousands of lives made better, safer, and healthier because of it,” said Capital One Philippines head of country Raoul Teh.
He said the project is a “testament to the dedication of our associates who have championed this cause from the very beginning.”
The initiative also provides disaster response through mobile AquaBlocks water filtration systems. These systems have been deployed in areas hardest hit by natural calamities, including Masbate and Cebu, which were severely affected by Typhoon Opong and a recent earthquake, respectively.
Capital One Philippines plans to deploy eight more towers by the end of 2025, bringing the total to 108, with additional projects being planned for 2026.
“While we celebrate this 100th water tower, we see it not as a final goal but as a reaffirmation of our long-term commitment,” Teh said.
“We will continue to partner with communities in need, because access to this essential resource is fundamental to health, education, and unlocking greater opportunities for all,” he said.
