The Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (ASEP), the nation’s premier professional organization for structural engineering, has issued a forceful declaration against corruption and malpractice in the engineering and construction sectors, particularly in public works, urging its members and all Filipino engineers to uphold ethics and public safety.
It issued the strong statement through a Facebook post, in response to ongoing controversies surrounding public infrastructure projects.

ASEP, as a leading professional body, affirmed its foundational principles and joined Filipino citizens in a resounding call to action, specifically rejecting corruption, shortcuts and technical compromises in the planning, design or construction of public works, which it warns break public trust, endanger the public and squander vital resources.
The organization is urging its esteemed members to renew their commitment to the Code of Ethics and the principles of the ASEP Mission, emphasizing integrity, accountability, competence, transparency and dedicated service in all professional endeavors.
The association said that every project should prioritize public safety, public welfare and public well-being.
ASEP also expressed full support for the government’s efforts to promote integrity and eliminate corruption in public infrastructure, committing to transparency, accountability and professionalism.
The group stated its readiness to assist the government in ensuring that public works projects adhere to the highest standards of safety, ethics and public trust. ASEP also urged all engineers to advocate for the sustainability of the built environment and the improvement of the quality of life.
ASEP will hold its 2025 Summit on November seven to eight, 2025, at the Camp John Hay Convention Center in Baguio City.
