The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) announced its commitment to protecting members’ privacy and personal data, saying it does not collect personal information through its official social media channels, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify.
This stance, issued during Cybersecurity Month, aligns with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s vision for a digitally secure Philippines, the agency said in a statement.
PhilHealth assured the public that its social media platforms are used solely for disseminating official information, responding to general inquiries, and directing members to appropriate channels for specific concerns.
It reminded members to never share personal details such as their full name, address, birthdate, or PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN) on any social media platform.
It said that for inquiries involving PIN verification, claims status, contribution history and other personal matters, members should contact PhilHealth through its official hotlines and email.
These official channels are designed to safely handle personal data in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, it said.
The agency also encourages the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or unofficial accounts claiming to represent PhilHealth.
