PEZA approves first university-based tech zone

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has approved the De La Salle University (DLSU) Laguna Campus in Biñan as a Knowledge, Innovation, Science, and Technology (KIST) Park, making it the first such ecozone established within a private university in the country.

The approval, pursuant to Proclamation No. 985, series of 2025, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., designates a portion of the DLSU Science and Technology Complex as a KIST Ecozone. It will serve as a hub for innovation, research, and technology development to support sustainable and inclusive national growth.
