The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said Monday it extended the tax deadlines for taxpayers and personnel in areas affected by the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck the province of Cebu on Sept. 30, 2025.
The extension, announced following the instruction of Commissioner Romeo Lumagui, Jr., covers the filing of tax returns, the payment of corresponding taxes and the submission of other required documents for all deadlines falling within October 2025.
All tax obligations originally due October 2025 may now be filed and paid on or before Oct. 31, 2025, as provided under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 88-2025, the BIR said.
It said the extended deadlines apply to taxpayers and BIR personnel under the jurisdiction of five specific Revenue District Offices and the Large Taxpayers Division – Cebu.
Lumagui said the extension allows taxpayers “sufficient time to comply with their tax obligations without adding to the burdens caused by the calamity,” reaffirming the agency’s commitment to “responsive, compassionate, and excellent taxpayer service, especially during times of crisis.”
