The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to enhance data sharing for policymaking.
The BSP said DOLE’s data would help it more closely monitor labor market conditions and craft policies to support price stability.
It said that in return, the BSP would produce research that could help DOLE strengthen its employment policies and improve its employment services.
“The MOU strengthens our ability to see the whole picture. With secure and timely data sharing, we can respond faster and smarter,” BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. said at the signing on Aug. 29.
“Together, we can align our policies to serve the Filipino people better. Good data lead to good policy, and good policy leads to good progress,” he said.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said the partnership would ensure progress “genuinely reaches all Filipinos, especially our jobseekers.”
