Global telecommunications firm iSON Tower Ltd. Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to accelerate the digital transformation of BCDA-administered properties, aiming to provide faster, more reliable, and more affordable connectivity to Filipinos.
The MOU, signed on August 27, will launch project studies for passive telecommunication infrastructure in BCDA’s economic zones.
“We are confident this partnership will deliver transformative development in our ecozones, with iSON bringing its global expertise in building robust and secure digital networks,” said BCDA president and chief executive officer Joshua Bingcang.
The collaboration stemmed from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s recent state visit to India, which strengthened bilateral ties and opened new opportunities in digital infrastructure.
Under the MOU, iSON Tower will provide technical expertise, conduct assessments and feasibility studies, and prepare business cases to recommend strategies for developing and constructing common towers and related infrastructure.
