The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will hold an open commission meeting this month, in line with a state policy under the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001 (EPIRA) to ensure transparent electricity prices and full public accountability.
“Our goal here is to make the ERC’s regulatory process more transparent to energy stakeholders and to foster greater accountability on the part of decision makers,” ERC chairperson Monalisa Dimalanta said.
“By allowing greater public access to our deliberations, we aim to heighten energy literacy and awareness of ERC’s rules and processes. This fosters stronger public participation, better understanding of regulatory actions, and an environment of fairness and inclusivity in the energy sector,” she said.
The commission issued on Feb. 15, 2024 Resolution No. 07, Series of 2024 to implement strategies to achieve targets for 2024 and beyond. These strategies include holding open commission meetings at least once quarterly.
The commission then issued Resolution No. 10, Series of 2025, “Resolution Adopting the Interim Guidelines on the Conduct of Open Commission Meetings,” on July 4, 2025, to establish a procedural framework for the meetings.
