DSWD eyes Clark as disaster response command and logistics center

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) plans to establish a Regional Disaster Response Command and Logistics Center for Central Luzon within the Clark Aviation Capital complex.

Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) president Jojit Alcazar welcomed the development, citing its vital role in boosting the government’s emergency response capabilities across Central Luzon.

“We welcome the establishment of this command and logistics center at Clark Aviation Capital. It will serve as a strategic storage and distribution point for relief goods and supplies, ensuring faster and more effective DSWD operations during emergencies in Central Luzon,” Alcazar said.

Located on a one-hectare area within the CIAC-managed Clark Civil Aviation Complex, the future facility is designed for the swift deployment of relief operations during disasters.

The project forms part of CIAC’s bid to develop the complex into a premier logistics hub.

Clark hosts key facilities of other national agencies including the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine Pharma Procurement Inc.

It also complements other national disaster response assets based in Clark such as the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF), the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) and the Integrated Operations Center for Disaster Response Management.
