EcoSolar Energy Corp. (ESEC), a new special purpose company of Yuchengco-led PetroGreen Energy Corp. (PGEC), is developing its largest solar power project to date with a capacity of between 90 megawatts to 100 MW in Panit-an, Capiz.
PGEC parent firm PetroEnergy Resources Corp. said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange Tuesday the Department of Energy (DOE) awarded on May 7, 2025 the certificate of authority (COA) for the Panit-an solar power project (PSPP) to ESEC.
“DOE’s COA grants ESEC the exclusive authority for the planned 90 to 100 MWDC PSPP, a ground-mounted solar project we will develop in ~88 hectares of land we own in the municipality of Panit-an, Capiz. When completed, it will yet be PGEC’s single biggest contiguous solar power facility,” said PGEC PSPP project manager Hiroki Hiwatashi.
