National Power Corp. (NPC) asked interested bidders to participate in the supply and delivery of renewable energy for the hybridization of its Small Power Utilities Group in four areas with a combined approved budget of P3.42 billion.

NPC issued four separate requests for expression of interest for the hybridization of Batanes, Bicol, Palawan and Tawi-Tawi, with the bid submission deadline on March 20, 2025.

The state-run firm set an approved corporate operating budget of P900 million or a subsidized approved generation rate (SAGR) of P7.39 per kilowatt-hour for Batanes (Cluster 1-A), P820 million or P6.5520 per kWh for Bicol (Cluster 5A), P960 million or P7.39 per kWh for Palawan (Cluster 4A) and P740 million or P6.7072 per kWh for Tawi-Tawi (Cluster 10).

“The Renewable Energy Power Producer will finance, design, construct, operate and maintain its own RE facelift and supply energy/power to the grid corresponding to the area of coverage for a period of 20 years as a supplement or replacement to NPC’s diesel genset operation,” NPC said.

It said bids received in excess of the approved budget per area would be rejected at the opening of the financial proposals, and the tariff rate offer should also not exceed the set SAGR.
