The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) and SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Feb. 4, 2025 to collaborate on the Job Opportunities, Building Skills (JOBS) program, an initiative designed to enhance employment prospects through targeted skills training and job matching.
The partnership aims to equip job seekers with relevant skills while connecting them with businesses in need of qualified talent.
By aligning training programs with industry demands, the initiative seeks to strengthen workforce readiness and create more sustainable employment opportunities.
“This MOU is more than just a formal agreement. It’s a step toward equipping individuals with skills that meet real industry demands,” said GPCCI president Marie Antoniette Mariano.
Mariano underscored GPCCI’s commitment to dual education and vocational training approaches, which have proven effective in enhancing workforce readiness.
