International Volunteerism Day serves as a global reminder of the power of collective action, and at Capital One Philippines, it represents a year-round commitment to building stronger, healthier communities through the dedicated efforts of its associates.
This year’s celebration was marked by impactful week-long activities, including the deployment of a water tower at Kiling Elementary School in Sariaya, Quezon—bringing the total number of towers deployed to 78.
Educational sessions were also held at Alabang Elementary School in Muntinlupa, and a heartfelt year-end celebration took place at Sto. Tomas Elementary School in Biñan, Laguna.
Throughout 2024, Capital One Philippines reached more than 356,000 people through its social responsibility initiatives. Milestones include donating over 416,000 meals in partnership with Rise Against Hunger; deployment of 28 water towers across the Philippines through Planet Water Foundation to provide clean drinking water to underserved communities; and some 13 young adults graduating from the Contact Center Readiness Program (CCRP), which provides digital skills and mentorship to underprivileged individuals in partnership with Tuloy Foundation.
The program boasts a 99 percent employment rate, with 105 of its 150 graduates now working at Capital One Philippines.
Capital One Philippines director and head of Strategy and Community Kaneth Santiago highlighted the far-reaching impact of these efforts. “Every donation, volunteer hour, and conversation creates a ripple effect beyond our initial intention. This year, over 49,000 donations were directed to support key beneficiaries like Haven for Children, Haven for Women, Alabang Elementary School, and disaster-stricken areas. These partnerships enable us to address pressing community needs and empower our beneficiaries to achieve their goals,” she said.
Volunteering holds a deeply personal significance for many associates at Capital One Philippines, as it provides an opportunity to pay forward the kindness they once received and find fulfillment in helping others. Efforts like delivering clean drinking water—a basic necessity often taken for granted—bring unparalleled satisfaction and underscore their commitment to being a force for good.
