The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) expressed hope for an improvement in public transport for the benefit of Filipino commuters.
“As 2024 concludes, the LTFRB’s achievements stand as a testament to its dedication to modernizing the Philippine transport system,” LTFRB chairman Teofilo Guadiz III said.
“Through innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to public service, the agency has laid a strong foundation for a safer, more efficient and sustainable transportation future,” he said.
Guadiz reiterated that President Marcos’ vision for a modernized transportation infrastructure is vital in addressing the evolving needs of the commuters and ensuring a more reliable and eco-friendly public transportation network in the country.
“In the year 2025, we are hopeful that our public transport continues to improve for the benefit of countless Filipinos. We in the LTFRB will carry on with our function to contribute to this important cause,” Guadiz said.
Guadiz also said efforts to reduce traffic congestion in Metro Manila were another achievement for the agency.
“Route rationalization and fleet consolidation eased the strain on the region’s roads, benefiting both public transport users and private motorists,” he said.
These measures demonstrated the LTFRB’s holistic approach to addressing urban mobility challenges.
The LTFRB also implemented improved feedback mechanisms to further enhance commuter experiences.
These systems allowed the agency to respond promptly to complaints, ensuring that public transport services remained reliable and commuter-focused.
Strategic communication campaigns played a vital role in gaining broader acceptance for the modernization program.
By emphasizing the long-term benefits of compliance, the LTFRB was able to address skepticism and build support among transport groups, he said.
Guadiz said this approach showcased the agency’s ability to manage change effectively.
