The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has urged Grab Philippines to maintain the highest standards of safety and security of its passengers and clients.
Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista emphasized the paramount importance of passenger safety in the transportation industry during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City.
“Safety is needed here in our transport sector. We cannot let our safety be compromised,” Bautista said.
“’For Grab driver, let’s make sure that the service we extend to passengers is good,” the transport chief added.
To be launched in the first quarter of 2025, the Grab Asenso Center is dedicated to empowering its growing ecosystem of drivers, riders, and merchant-partners, including those from MOVE IT, its motorcycle taxi platform.
Bautista also acknowledged that Grab contributes to the country’s economic growth by providing jobs to Filipinos.
With Grab’s training and livelihood to its more than 50,000 partner-drivers and merchants, Bautista learned that some of them were able to send their children to school.
