Medical program for educators hits 23-year milestone

A medical benefits program for Filipino Chinese educators has distributed P1,418,308 to 61 faculty members since its founding 23 years ago, according to the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII).

The Filipino Chinese School Faculty Medical Benefits program was established under the leadership of FFCCCII 24th president John Ng as a long-term measure to bolster Chinese education in the Philippines.

By the end of 2025, the initiative continued to provide medical allowances to qualified faculty to address urgent healthcare needs.

FFCCCII officials said Chinese language teachers are essential for maintaining the quality and continuity of education by imparting traditional culture and acting as cultural bridges.

The federation said supporting the physical and mental health of these educators is vital for the future of the Filipino Chinese community.

The program has operated for over two decades based on principles of standardization and fairness. FFCCCII is encouraging more associations to join the initiative to ensure stable, long-term operations that can benefit a wider range of educators.
