The Garment Manufacturer’s Association of the Philippines (GARMAP) celebrated its 75th founding anniversary and inducted its 75th to 76th officers on Dec. 7, 2025, at the Century Seafood Restaurant in Manila.
The event highlighted the association’s long history, industry contributions, and a renewed commitment to growth and community engagement under its new leadership.
Newly-elected president Dennis Tan noted his administration’s focus on strengthening member services, boosting industry competitiveness and fostering social connections. He pledged to build on the dedication of past leaders and collaborate with the new team to enhance GARMAP’s growth.
Tan urged members to actively participate in charitable activities, including cultural and educational initiatives, free medical missions, and disaster relief efforts, emphasizing the importance of social unity and prosperity.
The celebration underscored GARMAP’s commitment to community support, as the association made a donation to the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) Education Fund and various welfare funds of other associations.
Dignitaries lauded GARMAP’s enduring influence. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cris Roque underscored the garment industry’s crucial role in providing employment and its potential for further growth, reinforcing the importance of supporting this vital sector.
FFCCCII vice president William Gosiaco lauded GARMAP for its long-standing influence and contributions to the Filipino-Chinese community, national development and the textile industry.
GARMAP honorary president Joseph Lee reflected on the association’s 75-year history, expressing deep gratitude to past presidents, officers and industry leaders for their unwavering support.
Among the distinguished attendees was Tan Ching, honorary president of both GARMAP and FFCCCII.
