The Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) donated over 300 new chairs to the Justo Albert Auditorium of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) on July 16, 2025.
The donation marks the group’s support for PLM’s 60th anniversary and aims to enhance the university’s learning facilities.
The auditorium is a key facility within the university that serves as a venue for academic, cultural, and institutional events.
CFBCI president Samuel Lee Uy said the donation, though modest in scale, carries a lasting and meaningful impact.
He said the support aims to help the university create a more dignified and conducive environment for learning.
He said the partnership with PLM reflects CFBCI’s ongoing commitment to community development and the empowerment of future generations.
PLM president Domingo Reyes Jr., who led the university delegation, expressed sincere appreciation for the donation.
He acknowledged that the partnership with CFBCI goes beyond formal cooperation, describing it as a reflection of genuine friendship and shared purpose.
The donation is part of CFBCI’s ongoing education advocacy, which includes the Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program.
Launched in 2009, the program provides financial support to underprivileged students enrolled in public universities in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
The scholarship has helped nearly 500 students complete their education and become professionals in various fields.
Established in 1965, PLM is the country’s first city-funded, chartered autonomous university. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as medicine, engineering, business, education, and the arts and sciences.
CFBCI reaffirmed its dedication to promoting quality education through institutional partnerships.
