The Federation of Filipino Chinese Associations of the Philippines (FFCAP) launched a series of women-themed activities on March 9,2025 including a health and wellness talk.
Organized by vice chairwoman Sharon Tan, the talk was held at the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center as a special tribute to International Women’s Day.
FFCAP chairman Dante Chua and Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc. vice chairman Alberto Lee delivered speeches emphasizing their concerns for women’s health.
The talk featured lectures by Dr. Victoria Sy-Fernando, Dr. Joyce Chua, Dr. Eileen Young Sy and Dr. Irene Yuchongtian Sy, who addressed topics such as cervical cancer prevention, breast lumps, menopause, and female infertility.
In the evening, a celebration for International Women’s Day was held where guests received ribbon bracelets and roses.
Tan delivered welcome remarks, praising and expressing her expectations for women.
A special video interview with legendary female overseas Chinese leader Lin Yuyan shared life wisdom and the positive traits of women.
Former Consul Chen Meiluan of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines sent a letter encouraging women with the concept of six self-reliance.
Hong Shanyi, chairman of the Overseas Chinese Alumni Association, shared her personal journey from China to the Philippines, discussing the balance between family and career.
Hong Yinghui of Falcon Logistics also shared her experiences in pursuing happiness and realizing women’s values.
