Friendship group distributes school supplies in Tarlac

The Filipino-Chinese Friendship Association Inc., led by chairman Danny Sy and publicity director Sabrina Salazar, held a charity event in Concepcion, Tarlac on Nov. 20, 2024.

The event, aimed at providing support to Tarlac children, was attended by municipal and barangay officials as well as members of the association.

The association distributed over 500 sets of school supplies to kindergarten pupils in Barangay San Nicolas.

Each set included school bags, pencils, ballpens, crayons, rulers, scissors, erasers, sharpeners and exercise books.

The children were also treated to a meal to further make the event a special occasion for the young learners.

Municipal social welfare and development office head Jessa Mae Centeno, special assistant to the mayor Jennifer Balatbat, barangay chairman Bienvenido Feliciano and kindergarten director Nelita De Guzman warmly welcomed the members of the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Association during the event.

Sy introduced the history of the association and emphasized its growth and commitment to supporting communities in need.

He expressed his joy in bringing this charity event to Tarlac and reaffirmed the association’s continued support for the children, with a hope that they can learn and grow healthy.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Mayor Noel Villanueva, Centeno extended her gratitude to the association.

She said it was the first time the kindergarten received such a donation from an association based in Manila.

Other notable members of the association who participated in the charity event included secretary-general George Ong, treasurer Wu Nanyu, auditor Cai Shali, general affairs directors Wu Nanyang and Lin Zhenlan, organization director Chen Yonghui, liaison director Wang Xinghe, reception directors Cai Yawem and Shi Xiongfeng, exhibition director Chen Xiaoming and publicity director Lin Suling.

The donation was a testament to the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Association’s dedication to social welfare and community development.
