The Chinese Filipino Business Club Inc. (CFBCI) led by president Samuel Lee Uy donated sports equipment to Alupay Elementary School in Rosario, Batangas.
A turnover ceremony was held on September 25, 2024.
Uy introduced CFBCI’s Handog sa Kabataang Atleta Project, underscoring the organization’s commitment to nurturing future champions.
“They say that it takes a whole community to raise a champion, that is why it is very important to make our children feel that they are being supported and cheered upon as they pursue their dreams.” he said.
School principal Marissa De Ocampo expressed gratitude to the organization and said the newly-donated materials would foster greater interest and skill development in sports such as table tennis, chess, basketball, and volleyball of the students.
Director Willy Chion Wong of CFBCI, who also serves as the president of the Batangas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, encouraged the young audience with the message, “Big dreams begin with a small step.”
CFBCI vice president Jocelyn See and directors Willy Chion Wong, Jack Co, Jimmy Almerino, Nathalie Wong, Jason Li, along with plenary member Teresa Co and English secretary Mexica Bausa, attended the ceremony.
Local representatives also shared messages of appreciation, including Crisanta Lat from the Barangay Alupay education committee; Prescilla Villestas, president of the School Parent-Teacher Association and Fatima Flor, president of the Supreme Elementary Learner Government.
They expressed hope the new equipment would promote sportsmanship among students.
