The provincial government of Antique, led by Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, is praying for the victory of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in next year’s national elections as the country’ 17th president succeeding President Rodrigo Duterte whose term ends on June 30, 2022.
During a courtesy call at Cadiao’s office at the provincial capitol on Tuesday, the local chief executive even addressed Moreno “Mr. President” as she welcomed him to their province.
“Welcome to the province of Antique, your hometown,” Cadiao told Domagoso in the presence of other provincial officials.
“Mr. President, we are so proud of you,” Cadiao said.
Cadiao called on the people of Antique to support the 47-year-old Domagoso in his quest to become the next president of the country.
“I hope you will be the next – after how many centuries – the first president from Western Visayas,” Cadiao said.
“Yorme is an Antiquenion, is by blood an Antiquenion. He’s ours. He’s asking for your support and let us pray for his success,” she added.
Antonio Agapito Legarda Jr., brother of House Deputy Speaker and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda, also gave Domagoso a gift.
“This is the one from Inday Loren. He said to take care of you here in Antique because you are fellow [Antiquenions]. We are looking forward to seeing you and now it’s a reality,” Legarda said.
