After several months of campaigning for solo exercising at home through “Zumbarangay Pilipinas,” top winners in the women open, girl open, and LGBTQI categories will finally convene for the final showcase of their talents at Travellers Hotel in Subic.

“Zumbarangay Pilipinas” encourages women and girls to dance and regularly exercise to maintain body and mind wellness.

Chairman William I. Ramirez of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) proudly notes that “Zumbarangay Pilipinas: Solo Exercise On Cam Challenge” is launched to encourage women and girls to keep on dancing and regularly exercising in order to maintain body and mind wellness. 

The contest also launch PSC’s first official dance exercise music entitled “Igalaw-galaw ating Katawan. 

“This music’s upbeat track will really make everyone dance and move their bodies to the beat. It drumbeats the nation to rise up, shape up in order to win over the negative impact of the pandemic,” said Ramirez.         

The nationwide exercise campaign received entries from the barangay level across its three categories: Women Open; LGBTQ; and, kids.

The judges to personally meet the top winners include international and award-winning choreographer and NCAA Ani ng Dangal Awardee for Dance in 2016, 2017, and 2018, Chris Beltran. 

Another judges are celebrity and international multi-medalist dance sport athlete Stephanie Sabalo; Professor Michiko Aseron of the University of the Philippines Diliman-College of Human Kinetics; Coach Lenlen Ruis who is certified AFAA group Exercise instructor; and Bam Mogato, an American Council on Exercise Certified Fitness Instructor since 2000. 

Production Director and PSC Women in Sports Consultant Marilou Cantancio announces that the first place winner per category gets P30,000; 2nd placer per category gets P20,000; and, 3rd place winner per category brings home P10,000. Ten Special Awardees per category will be selected, and each gets P3,000.00.
