Perez came up with a total of 166 kilograms.

The Bohol-native’s initial lift at 73 kgs was clean, but her attempt at 77 didn’t fall through.

Then, Perez went for 93 kgs in the clean and jerk, which she passed, but her attempt at 97 failed.

Diaz, a cousin of Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, did not finish in the women’s 45kg after failing all her lifts in the snatch.

She had no-lifts on three attempts of 65kg, before successfully lifting 77kg and 80kg in the clean and jerk. She submitted another ‘no-lift’ in her final attempt of 83kg.

So far, Thailand claimed the golds in the two weight divisions,  with Thunya Sukcahroen and Surodchana Khambao finishing with 172 kgs and 191 in the 49-kg and 45-kg sections, respectively.

Sukcharoen also went home with  the snatch gold and the clean and jerk silver with 77 and 95 kgs, respectively. Peter Atencio
