Mayor Toby Tiangco has approved a General Pandemic Amnesty Program for Navotas City.
Under the ordinance, penalties, interests, surcharges, and any other additional fees incurred from January 2020 – December 2021 on all unpaid local taxes, regulatory fees, and service charges will be waived as long as taxpayers settle their accounts from January to June 30, 2022.
“Many of our constituents suffered financial instability because of the pandemic. Now that they are trying to get back on their feet and earn a living, we want to provide them an easy way to pay their dues without adding to their financial burden,” Tiangco said.
The pandemic amnesty program is open to all delinquent accounts related to business permit and taxes, as well as real property taxes, including idle lands within the territorial jurisdiction of Navotas, and transfers of real property ownership. Jun David
It also includes regulatory fees and service charges on permits, licenses, franchises and all other services from the city government such as parking fees and violation fines.
The program is also applicable to local tax cases and protests pending before any judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative bodies, provided that concerned parties enter a compromise agreement on or before March 30, 2022 and settle all their tax liabilities in the city until June 30, 2022.
