SM City Grand Central, the second SM mall erected in Caloocan under the administration of Mayor Oscar "Oca" Malapitan, is now open to the public.
Mayor Oca led its blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday along with Congressman Along Malapitan, Vice Mayor Maca Asistio, SM Prime Holdings Chairman Hans T. Sy, SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan, SM Supermarket Chairman Herbert T. Sy, and other SM Management officials.
According to the mayor, the continued growth of large establishments in the city is proof of the trust of entrepreneurs in the continued development in Caloocan.
"Tayo ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa SM Management sapagkat patuloy ang pagtitiwala nila sa Caloocan. Mas maraming negosyo, mas maraming trabaho at oportunidad para sa tao," said the mayor.
In the second term of Mayor Oca, SM Sangandaan was opened, the first branch of the mall giant in Caloocan.
Meanwhile, the mayor reminded the people that despite the gradual reopening of the economy, more precautions and adherence to minimum health protocols are still needed.
