‘Protect BBM all the way’

“His opponents are trying to force him out of the race.”

Opposing candidates, detractors and critics of presidential race frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., BBM for short, apparently find explaining his meteoric popularity as extremely difficult as figuring out how to force him out in the running.

Well, it seems next to impossible now that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has moved to galvanize the alliance of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago with BBM’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

In what sounded as a truly heartfelt message to her millions of followers, Inday Sara exhorted them to “protect BBM, as well as their votes” come election-day, May 9th 2022.

Inday Sara’s call came in the wake of massive disinformation and character assassination directed at BBM, particularly in the social media, apparently well-financed by yellow minions and anti-Marcos camps.

The BBM-Sara Uniteam is clearly the formidable tandem, the juggernaut to beat in the upcoming presidential polls.

They have come a long way.

Last September 13, BBM took center stage via Toni Gonzaga’s controversial interview on her vlog Toni Talks to mark his 64th birthday, long before the former senator declared candidacy for president.

Much to the disgust of his critics, the BBM interview garnered 12.1 million views to foretell what was to come.

After all the suspenseful wait for Inday Sara’s decision to run or not to run, we fast-forward to the forming of the BBM-Sara “Uniteam” as standard-bearers for the PFP and the Lakas-CMD.

Just days after formalizing the BBM-Sara Uniteam, which has been referred to as “a marriage made in heaven,” the tandem has taken the Elections 2022 scene by storm.

Over a million reportedly joined last Sunday’s caravans held simultaneously in different localities in Ilocos, Visayas and Mindanao regions to mark the launching of the Uniteam.

Millions of supporters followed the activities online as BBM and Inday Sara joined thousands of red-clad Dabaweños for the motorcade rally in Tagum City, Davao Norte where the Uniteam set up a headquarters.

The Solid North and the South have been unified for the BBM-Sara tandem.

Similar pro-BBM motorcades had been held previously in Metro Manila, key cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Albay, Cebu, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Butuan cities.

After all the black propaganda, rival candidates just can no longer comprehend BBM’s overwhelming lead as indicated by various surveys, including Social Weather Stations, Pulse Asia, Publicus Asia, Manila Bulletin and Manila Times, among others.

Without popular support, a handful of BBM detractors have likewise piled up petitions for his disqualification for naught, according to seasoned election lawyers.

Apparently, people have gotten tired of recycled garbage about historical revisionism, massive human rights violations and tales of “killing fields” during nine years of Martial Law (September 1972 to January 1981).

Filipinos duped by the so-called EDSA People Power uprising instead remember the political chaos, government corruption, lawlessness, disorder and the Chinese incursion into the West Philippine Sea that transpired during the 30 years that followed the Marcos fall.

It is the necessity to restore sanity and order in the political bedlam that the clamor for a leader with a “vision of nationhood” has been voiced out tremendously.
