Miss Philippines now in Puerto Rico for Miss World pageant

Tracy Maureen Perez promised to do her best when she competes against more than a hundred beauties at the 70th Miss World pageant before her long flight to Puerto Rico.

The 28-year-old Industrial Engineer graduate is competing at almost the same time as her fellow Cebuana Beatrice Luigi Gomez at the rival Miss Universe pageant.

Miss World is coming off a year absence due to the pandemic with the last edition held in 2019 in London where the Philippines’ Michelle Dee made the Top 12 finalists.

Tracy Maureen Perez proudly waves the Philippine flag in Puerto Rico, the venue of this year’s edition of Miss World.

“I cannot wait to meet everyone especially my co-candidates and the Filipino community here in Puerto Rico,” Perez said on Instagram upon arriving wearing a pink bodysuit with drape scarf designed by Ebiro.

“I want to make sure everything’s planned out down to the last detail. I’m so thankful to everyone who’s keeping me sane and strong all throughout the ups and downs,” Perez said.

In her Miss World introduction video, which revealed that she was born a miracle baby surrounded by life’s perplexities, Perez shared that “I have moved from different directions to find my purpose, to understand life’s meaning as defined by experiences, both difficult and easy,”

The Cebuana beauty grew up without a father and was raised by her single mother who died when she was seventeen. She was able to finish college at the University of San Carlos with the help of her relatives.

Perez said that the experience made life an absolute blessing and also inspired her to learn from it in order to live life to the fullest.

The finals of Miss World 2021 will be held at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Dec. 16 where reigning Miss World Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will pass on her crown.
