Spook-tacular Halloween  treats and activities

No tricks, just treats even if kids and kids at heart spend another Halloween at home. Here’s a hair-raising  lineup of special creations and virtual events for this weekend.  

Marks & Spencer’s Dragon Eggs and (inset) Florentine’s Burnt Honey Cake

For ghostly gatherings

Grand Hyatt Manila’s Florentine offers a delectable 8-inch Burnt Honey Cake made of sponge cake with layers of Dulce de Leche, burnt honey, and cream cheese  filling at P1,850 net.  For pumpkin-themed parties, its Pumpkin Pie (P900 net) features a mix of flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon, while the Pumpkin Cupcake (P250 net)  is a vanilla muffin with dark chocolate ganache.  

These treats are available today until Oct. 31 at Florentine or through Dine at Home (bit.ly/DineAtHomeGHM).  

Marks and Spencer offers spook-tacular Halloween line of treats, including Zombie Eyeballs, Creepy Chocolate Lollipops, Sour Spiders, Milk Ghosts, and Graveyard Festival, Spooky Ombles Choco Pops, Dragon Eggs, Bubbly Boo, Net of Ghoulish Gang, and Vampire Fangs.

The aforementioned Halloween treats are only available in select M&S stores.

Activity kit for Crimson’s Wicked Halloween

It is a huge Halloween gathering as Crimson Hotels and Resorts in Filinvest City, Mactan, and Boracay; Quest Hotels in Tagaytay, Clark, and Cebu; and Timberland Highlands Resort invite guests to celebrate virtually.

On Oct. 30, 2:00 p.m., a Wicked Halloween will entertain kids via Zoom with activities from Tinker House, an interactive magic show by Dale Rubio, and a Best in Costume contest where they can win gift certificates from any of the aforementioned hotels. Savoy Hotel Manila invites children 3 to 10 years old to join the Blox Halloween Bash virtual party on Oct. 31 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Savoy Manila hosts a virtual program for children aged 3 to 10. 

The 1000-peso ticket per child gives them access to the online party that includes interactive games and entertaining activities; a special loot bag with pastries, activity kit, assorted snacks; a discount voucher; Sparky the plushie; and other freebies.  Two  winners will win the Best in Halloween Costume. Outdoor surprises

Children eager to have fun outside safely are invited to Spook Street, a drive-by Halloween event at 9th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City on Oct. 30-31.  

BGC is having a two-day drive-by Halloween event.

For a minimum purchase of P1,500 from any Bonifacio High Street merchants on Oct. 23-31 entitle BGCitizens and guests loot bags filled with treats. Go to Bonifacio High Street on Facebook and Instagram.  

Araneta, dubbed the City of Firsts, has a lineup of events on Oct. 28-30. Community Fair (retail and al fresco dining) at New Frontier Theater Arcade on Oct. 28-30, drive-thru trick or treat at Gateway Mall Drive & Go pickup station on Oct. 30, and Horror in Color virtual Halloween show on Oct. 30, 3:00 p.m. via Facebook Live.
