The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) recently entered into an agreement with the local government of Magsaysay in Misamis Oriental for the implementation of the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) in the municipality.
The deal, which will help some 1,000 families, was signed by Mayor Rey Buhisan and SHFC Cagayan de Oro manager Janet Lumayag (Shown in photo).

The CMP allows legally organized communities of informal settler families to purchase the land they occupy, or would like to relocate to.
So far, the program has benefitted 380,000 households across the country through over P18.3 billion in loans since 1989.
