The Philippine arts and culture sector has remained steadfast in its efforts to fortify public awareness and appreciation of our country’s beauty and heritage in spite of the pandemic.

Various arts and culture purveyors have begun to diversify their programs to keep up with the times, with some adapting digital solutions, while others innovating the physical events front to align with health safety and social distancing protocols.

As one of the leading staunch advocates of arts and culture, Palacio de Memoria offers the public something to look forward to—a two-day outdoor fair open to all art enthusiasts and visitors.

The fair will be showcasing the best of Filipino and European cultural heritage through a European-themed flea market, which will run from October 23-24, 2021.

Inspired by the El Rastro or “the trail,” the most popular open air flea market in Madrid, Spain, Palacio de Memoria aims to bring the colorful, fun, and vibrant festivity to fairgoers searching for bargains, antique shops, and gastronomic delights.

The two-day Arts & Antiques Fair will be filled with various goods, from art pieces to antiques, paintings, sculptures, accessories, textiles, home furnishings and décor, wall art, gift items, toys, artisanal/designer specialty items, and collectors’ items to tickle every art shopper’s fancy.

The fair’s activities and booths will allow visitors to experience art and culture in different forms.

On both days, the Open Bar by Distileria Limtuaco, Don Papa Rum will be giving a taste of what it’s like to hang out at a European bar back in the old days. Fair goers can look forward to an exclusive menu at the Food & Libation booth of The Loggia by Margarita Forés, a true showcase of European dining at its finest. On October 23, The Loggia together with Tanqueray and Moet & Chandon will take street food to new heights at the Galeria de Gunita, while ABS-CBN Film Restoration Inc. will host an exclusive film screening of the newly restored 1941 film Ibong Adarna directed by Vicente Salumbides on October 24, 2021.

The Palacio also invites interested individuals to a scholarly gathering filled with literary, artistic and cultural interchange inspired by the Spanish tertulias or evening soirees of the colonial times.

Palacio de Memoria implements strict health protocols in order to offer a safe place to all visitors who once again would like to enjoy their passions or those who are looking for unique experiences. Parents and paw-rents can also enjoy the event as kids and pet dogs are welcome at the two-day fair. Art and Culture enthusiasts can check out more details regarding the activities by following Palacio de Memoria on Facebook and visit their website to see the full schedule of October activities or to book for tour visits and events at the Palacio.
