A new pizza player on the corner serves a square-shaped pie with thick, chewy crust and lots of cheese on top – just like how they do it in Detroit.
Corner Pizza adds Detroit Style Pizza – Pepperoni to its growing menu. It’s made with an extra thick cheddar crust with 50 percent more mozzarella and cheddar cheese and topped with 50 pepperoni slices. The Detroit Style Pizza is made richer with added tomato sauce to balance the flavors.
The brand, launched as a cloud kitchen concept (operates in “ghost kitchens” and available for delivery only) in November 2020 by Marco Siy, offers square-shaped pizzas bigger by square inch than its 12-inch round counterpart.
“Corner Pizza was born given the pandemic situation last year, by maximizing the delivery service and products of Kenny Rogers Roasters,” shared 17-year-old Siy.
In entering the local pizza market, Siy said, “We don’t cut corners in the selection of ingredients, preparation, and shape. This is further strengthened by our new pizza that has a thick and chewy crust – Detroit Pepperoni. And we don’t plan to stop there, there are lots of exciting products soon.”
Corner Pizza is reportedly planning to open its first small brick-and-mortar store soon.
In the meantime, its Detroit Pepperoni (P599) and other square-shaped pizzas can be ordered through 8555-9000 or www.cornerpizza.com.ph. Each order of the Detroit Pepperoni today until Oct. 17 comes with free four pieces Parmesan Crusted Garlic Bread.
