Bagumbong High School was declared the grand winner in the recent 'Lodi Kong Dancer Sina Ma'am At Sir' Tiktok Challenge launched by Caloocan City Councilor Vince Hernandez in commemoration of teachers this World Teachers' Month.
Out of the 21 participants, five finalists entered the 2nd round of the contest where the winner was judged by Mr. Danilo Duyan, Prof. Marilyn de Jesus, Atty. Jearemmy Rosario-Guinto and Dr. Nerissa Losaria.
Bagumbong High School’s Tiktok entry that focused on the theme of giving recognition to frontliners facing the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic got 96% marks.
Bagong Silang High School was the 2nd runner up and won the People's Choice Award while Rene Cayetano Elementary School was the 3rd runner up, followed by Camarin High School and Bagumbong Elementary School.
Hernandez said the Tiktok Challenge is just a small thing to honor teachers who are sacrificing to still continue to provide quality education to students in the midst of the pandemic.
"I know this contest is just a small thing but I want to somehow give a little happiness in the midst of the intense difficulties we are facing everyday," he said.
Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan and Rep. Along Malapitan thanked Konsi Vince in launching this type of contest that served as a stress reliever for teachers.
The grand winner received a P30,000 prize; P20,000 for 1st runner up; P10,000 for 2nd runner up; P7,000 for the 3rd runner up and P5,000 for the 4th runner up in addition to trophies, certificates and t-shirts.
Meanwhile, all participating schools also received certificates and t-shirts and a box of rice each in gratitude for their cooperation.
Many live viewers also focused on the FB live of the awarding ceremony hosted by Mr. Jason del Rosario and Ms. Caloocan 2019 Shanon Tampon, won various raffle prizes.
