City of San Fernando – The Police Regional Police Office 3 stationed at Camp Prospero Olivas here emerged as winner in the search for the Outstanding Regional Police Office 2019-2020, besting 16 other regions nationwide.
This was after more than two decades of hard work in terms of operational and administrative aspects, the PRO3 said in a statement.
“Our efforts and hard work in keeping Central Luzon one of the most peaceful places in the country has paid off. Higher headquarters recognizes the good job of our men and women in the region,” said BGen. Valeriano de Leon, director of PRO3.
De Leon received the streamer award and plaque of recognition from PNP Chief General Guillermo Eleazar during a ceremony at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Thursday, coinciding with the 120th police service anniversary.
“This is a morale boosting recognition and we humbly attribute this to the officers and men in the field and to our civilian employees who have unselfishly contributed to making PRO3 the best regional office,” De Leon said.
He also thanked his predecessor, Police Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, for giving the best for PRO3.
PRO3 covers the provinces of Aurora, Bulacan, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales, including Olongapo City and Angeles City. It has 12,000 policemen stationed in different provincial and city police offices.
Central Luzon, the third biggest region in the country, has a population of 12,422,172. Industries and other big businesses including Clark Freeport and Subic Freeport are situated in the region, making it difficult for the police to safeguard the entire area.
“This recognition will serve as an inspiration for us to work hard tirelessly to fulfill our commitment in combating criminality,” said De Leon.
He also attributed the achievement to the people of Central Luzon and various stakeholders including the local government for their support to the police.
“We also share this feat with our stakeholders and all local government units who have been extending their support in making us number one,” De Leon stressed.
