Drive-in cinema screens Indonesian film about dyslexia

Guests from the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, Department of Foreign Affairs, and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) graced the screening of an Indonesian film about a single-parent with a dyslexic son.

The drive-in cinema at Mall of Asia in Pasay featured Wonderful Life by Indonesian filmmaker Agus Makkie. The film is a heartwarming family drama about the journey of single parent Amalia in raising her son Aqil who is diagnosed with dyslexia. The story revolves around the mother and son’s quest to finding the cure to Aqil’s difficulties in school and in life because of his learning disorder.

Through the film, the embassy aims to raise awareness of the issues and challenges in responding to the needs of special children.

In addition to Indonesian Embassy officials led by Charge d’Affairs Widya Rahmanto, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives from DFA and FDCP, guests from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Philippine Dyslexia Foundation also attended the exclusive movie screening.
