Gawad Sine Abreño winners

Bangued, Abra—Winners in the week-long 3rd Gawad Sine Abreño for the Abrenian Heritage Film Festival 2021, in celebration of the Philippine Film Industry via Zoom, have been named, the organizers said.

The virtual awarding program on Sept. 12 was attended by the Sine Abreño Board Members, Festival Jury Members, filmmakers, and friends from the region, which included singing of the Cordillera Hymn and messages from Ms. Jovita Ganongan, OIC Regional Director, DOT-Cordillera; Sine Abreño Board Member, Dr. Maria Teresa Beñas; and FDCP Chair and CEO, Undersecretary Mary Liza Diño-Seguerra.

The winners were Best Director: Gabb Gantala for Naimbag nga Panagkasangaymo, Nang; Best Narrative: Naimbag nga Panagkasangaymo, Nang by Gabb Gantala; Best Documentary Film: Sam-it Ken Pait by Edmar Delos Santos;

Best Festival Picture: Sam-it Ken Pait by Edmar Delos Santos; Jury’ Choice: Dalluyon by Jeisther Timothy Galano; Best Festival Performance: Jek Jumawan for Nagbuwa Nga Gugma; Best Sound Design: Dalluyon by Jeisther Timothy Galano;

Best Editing: Naimbag nga Panagkasangaymo, Nang by Gabb Gantala; Best Visual Design: Dalluyon by Jeisther Timothy Galano; Special Citation for Cultural Promotion: Panaglaga by Melver Ritz Gomez.

Special Citation for Emerging Ilokano Filmmakers: Gabb Gantala, and Jeisther Timothy Galano; Video Citations from jury members: Kristoffer ‘Tops’ Brugada, Martika Ramirez Escobar, Kevin Pison Piamonte, Arjanmar Rebeta, were played during the awarding. While Jury President Emmanuel Dela Cruz delivered his citation. Honor Blanco Cabie

All winners will each receive the Sine Abreño Wired Camera trophy designed by Lito Malaggay inspired from the ‘bamboo camera’ by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Kidlat Tahimik; while cash prize will come from the Department of Tourism Cordillera, the organizers said in a statement.
