Lista, PNOC president, passes on

The Department of Energy and energy stakeholders on Tuesday mourned the passing of Philippine National Oil Co.  president Admiral Reuben S. Lista PCH due to complications from COVID-19.

“Admiral Lista was our staunch partner in realizing our energy goals to effectively implement President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s vision of ushering in a comfortable and secure future for the Filipino people,” DOE said in a statement.

“The energy family deeply grieves the lost of another invaluable member in such turbulent times,” it said.

Born November 4, 1947, Lista served as PNOC president since November 2016.

PNOC employees, for its part, thanked Lista for his service, saying, his leadership and support were the reasons for the company’s progress.

“With you we achieved great milestones and success. We owe you so much for pushing us harder. Your inspirational words will stay with us

forever,” the company said.

Lista is best known for his leadership and command of the maritime industry, particularly for his service with the Philippine Coast Guard, where he rose through the ranks.

He is an avid sporstman and served to advance the sport of bowling as president of the Philippine Bowling Congress and the National Sports Association for Bowling.

Lista holds three master’s degrees and and graduated top of his class in BS Marine Transportation at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy in 1969.
